VM72 and VM36 Niche Light Installation Manual
Concrete Niche Installation
Fix the niche into the steel work using the fixing tabs.
If you are using conduit to bring the light's cable to above the pool's water level, remove the gland nut and sealing ring from the back of the niche.
When the pool wall surface has been completed, if any part of the niche is protruding from the wall this must be cut off before the light is fitted.
Pull the light's cable through the niche until approximately 500mm of cable (or enough to reach the top of the pool) is left between the light and the niche.
Coil the 500mm of cable into the niche; for easier fitting of the light it is advisable to lubricate the two black rubber retaining rings, push the light into the niche until the back of the light touches the flange on the niche.
Fibreglass Niche Installation
We recommend the flush mounted pool lights are fitted apporximately 450mm below water level. To fit the fibre glass niche into the pool wall, mark the position for the light and drill a small pilot hole, use a 79mm hole saw to cut the hole for the niche, taking care not to damage the surface of the pool wall.
Remove the nut from the niche, apply a good quality silicone sealant to the back of the niche flange, fit the niche through the hole and fit the nut, tighten the nut until the silicone is compressed, wipe off the excess silicone before it cures.
Thread the light's cable through the niche fromt he inside of the pool, leave approximately 500mm of cable between the light and the niche, tighten the gland nut on the back of the niche.
