Installation Instructions for Retro-fit VMP light

(Please read before commencing installation)

1. Remove existing light from the pool.

2. Dry the power lead and cut it as close to the light as possible, cut off 50mm.of the outer lead's sheath and 12 mm from the two inner wires sheathing.

3. Place the old light onto the adaptor plate positioning the top of the light and the “TOP” of the adaptor plate together, mark on the adaptor plate the screw hole positions of the light.

4. Unpack the Varimode light, remove the bracket from the back of the light and using the four countersunk screws attach the bracket to the adaptor plate, make sure the bracket is vertical and pointing towards the “TOP”. .

    5. Feed the power lead through one of the adaptor plate's large holes and attach the adaptor to the pool wall using the screws provided (use the holes previously marked from the old light).

    6. Unscrew the large six sided plug and the hexagonal gland nut and cone shaped sealing ring from the back of the light.

    7. Fit the gland nut and cone onto the power lead until 5mm of the outer cable of the lead is showing beyond the cone sealing ring.

    8. Fit the power lead through the gland and tighten the gland nut. If you have difficulty in refitting the gland nut, the main body of the light can be removed from the case, unscrew the four Philips head screws (covered with silicone), once the main body is removed the gland nut can be fitted easily.

    9. Crimp the two ring terminals onto the bared wires, remove the two brass nuts and washers from the screws inside the “pocket” and fit one terminal to each of the brass screws, refit the washers and nuts taking care not to over tighten them.

  • 10. Fit the 6 sided plug and tighten until the sealing ring is compressed to form a seal. Do not over tighten.

    11. Before switching on your new light, check the transformer voltage, it must be 12Volt AC.

    12. Now the new light is ready to be fitted to the pool wall. Allow enough power lead to bring the light to the surface for maintenance purposes. Wind the excess power lead around the inside of the light and twist the light onto the bracket in the pool.

    Important!

    Lights must only be operated using a 12 volt A.C. transformer.
